Twenty-five years building Qatari businesses in energy, logistics and real estate — and a conviction that leadership is a duty of service to the people who do the work.
Khalid Al Rashid chairs Al Rashid Holding, a family group founded by his father in 1978 that today employs 2,400 people across energy services, logistics and real estate in Qatar, Oman and Saudi Arabia.
Trained as a mechanical engineer at Qatar University and later in finance at London Business School, he joined the family business on the workshop floor, founded its logistics arm from a single warehouse, and led the group through its diversification and its first expansion outside Qatar.
He sits on the boards of two listed companies and a national foundation, and gives one day a week to mentoring young Qatari founders through the scholarship fund he established in 2014.
“I was taught that a company is a promise to the people who work in it. Everything else — the numbers, the strategy, the brand — is how you keep that promise.”
Leads the group across energy services, logistics and real estate: 2,400 people, operations in Qatar, Oman and Saudi Arabia. Led the digital transformation programme and the group's first sustainability report.
Took the group outside Qatar for the first time — Muscat in 2015, Riyadh in 2019 — and restructured the holding into three operating companies with independent boards.
Founded the logistics arm from a single warehouse; by 2015 it ran the largest privately held cold-chain fleet in the country and moved the group's head office to Lusail.
Doubled the service fleet, won the company's first long-term national contracts and introduced the safety programme still in use today.
Joined the family business on the workshop floor after graduating; ran maintenance operations for the offshore contracts.

Group revenue grew five-fold between 2009 and 2024, from one operating company to three, with 61% of leadership roles held by Qatari nationals.
Opened Muscat in 2015 and Riyadh in 2019 — the group's first operations outside the country — without taking on external shareholders.
Introduced the family constitution, an independent board and a succession plan that the GCC Family Business Council now cites as a model.
Founded a scholarship fund that has sent 140 Qatari students to engineering schools abroad; 90 have since returned to work in the country.
“Numbers tell you what happened. Leadership is deciding what happens next — and standing behind it.”
Build companies that stay, hire and train at home, and compete abroad from a position of strength.
A decision log, a clear owner and a review date — in the boardroom and in the family.
Every leader's last job is to prepare the ones who follow. Mentoring is not charity; it is succession.
Use every tool that gives the team back its time — and keep the final decision, and the signature, human.

We build it with you, in Arabic and English, on your own domain — story, experience, achievements, vision, media and contact — and you approve every word before it goes live. Behind it sits your private Qiyada office.
This profile is the public face. Behind the Private login is Khalid's own Qiyada office: his companies' financials, board reports, letters on his letterhead, his calendar and Mona, his AI secretary. Visitors see the profile; only he sees the office.
